Are you a job placement service?
No. Futurity guides and advises clients through their own job search process, helps to make networking connections, provides self-assessment tools to help clarify your individual workplace motivators and values, and advises on roles that might be a great fit.
You wrote a book focused on Career Transition for Government employees. Is that the main audience for your coaching services?
Not at all! We are excited to provide Career Transition Advisory Services to individuals at all levels, from High School and College students through late-in-life career explorers. Everyones’ needs are different, and helping people at all levels is our goal.
Do you prepare/update resumes and LinkedIn profiles?
Yes, but only in conjunction with Career Coaching Packages.
What is in a Career Coaching Package?
A package of Career Transition Coaching services includes: a resume’ update and LinkedIn profile development, the use of Behavioral and Communication Style assessment tools, and a set of one-on-one career transition coaching sessions. (The number of coaching sessions depends upon your professional level.) We believe that this combination of services enables clients to find best-fit professional opportunities and to understand and articulate their value proposition to prospective employers,
How often do Career Coaching sessions take place?
As often as you like. Career coaching sessions can be scheduled with the frequency that works best for you. Some clients have an immediate need for regular, intensive coaching due to their current work circumstances, while others prefer to plan and prepare for an upcoming transition over a period of many months. You have up to two years to use your paid coaching sessions.
How long is a coaching session?
Coaching sessions are one hour.
Does the time spent revising a resume and updating a LinkedIn profile count against my coaching hours?
No. Resumes and LinkedIn profiles are an iterative process that is included in a Career Coaching Package, independent of scheduled Coaching Sessions.
Are sessions done virtually, or in-person?
Coaching Sessions can be done in-person or virtually (Client’s choice) in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Sessions are held virtually for clients living in other geographic areas. Futurity has clients globally and has excellent experience using an online platform for coaching sessions.
What assessment tools do you use to help me find the best fit career direction?
The specific assessment tools will depend upon a client’s professional level and area of expertise. We will generally do a Motivators and Values Assessment as well as a DISC Behavioral and Communication Style Assessment. The two assessments are invaluable for helping you to think about the types of positions that would be the best fit for you. The assessment tools are an important component of the Career Coaching Package.
What other services does Futurity provide?
Futurity provides a full range of Human Resources Consulting Services to assist small and medium-sized businesses to achieve their growth goals. Services include, but are not limited to: understanding the processes and strategies for corporate talent acquisition, optimizing diverse talent, organizational culture and change management, learning and talent development, employee benefits and compensation; employee relations, and international assignment management, corporate compensation models and benefits, bench-marking, corporate immigration policy development, compliance management, corporate outplacement, corporate codes of ethics, and HR Information Systems (HRIS). Finance assistance includes general ledger, tax equalization programs, international donor program management, and supporting companies through pre-IPO and M&A activities.
Futurity also facilitates Behavioral and Communication Style Workshops (using the DISC assessment tool) to help corporate leadership teams work most effectively together leveraging the diverse styles, strengths and backgrounds of individual members.
